Houseguests

It's hard to post with houseguests in residence. They eat three meals a day which we seldom do. Lots of laundry. Vegetarian food to prepare. Can't just throw a burger on the grill or open an (eek!) can of spam. I haven't walked or worked out for almost a week. Thisbe, the younger, more sensitive cat has spent the week hiding under the furnace room stair. She comes out late at night and disappears early in the morning.

And the weather has been crapola, too. Rain. Snow. Cold. My crocus are in some sort of weird holding pattern. They don't look like they are going to do jack shit. Daffodils better. Tulips coming along apace. Other bulbs only slightly better than crocus. Think the gardener put a hex on them. We live in a condo and extra planting in front in frowned on.

We made some really good cookies with chopped chocolate, apricots, dried cherries and hazelnuts in addition to the butter, sugar, flour routine. The pieces of chocolate were 1/2 inch which adds a lot of serious gooiness. Yum!

I am reading a book about the Panama Canal which is going to take as long to read as it did to dig the canal. Almost 700 pages. Sheesh!

I chip away at my tasks. Emailed the agent with the book to see how things are going. MWA Anthology didn't accept my short story. I will send it out again, because it's sort of fun.

Onward. Think I heard the dryer buzz.

Grapeshot.
