The Cruellest Month

The tax man cometh; the property tax is due; health insurance likewise, and a bunch of other bills. There is a sucking sound as the money drains out of ye olde bank account, the sound of sucking it out not up. That is for me to do.

The crocus issue is resolved. The rabbit or rabbits ate the tops of the leaves off, and for some reason, that created 12 non-blooming crocus. Next year I will try cayenne pepper at the appropriate time.

I haven't ready Barry's Eisler's books (yet), but he has an excellent web site, with advice for writers, and good information about him and his books. It looks appealing, too, and makes one want to read his thriller novels. http://www.barryeisler.com

This afternoon we are going to hear "Italian Baroque Concertos & More" at Jordan Hall. Vivaldi's music always expresses an optimism about life that I find appealing. Listening to his concertos I can "see" the sunlight sparkling on the lagoons and canals of Venice. We do have some sunlight today and the weather has warmed, just enough to make one long for another really warm day. The sunlight sparkles on the slough, but not like in Venice.

One of the houseguests, an adventurous soul with heavy boots, has discovered that one can walk around the entire slough if you don't mind crossing over a tree limb bridge now and again. There are some sort of old rock foundations that could be military or commercial, and when the weather and my mood are right, it seems like an interesting exploratory adventure. There are also animal paths (deer?). I would like to write a kids book sometime, a little adventure story.

Palm Sunday
Palmsonntag
Rameaux

We have a palm of some sort in the bedroom that the cats gnaw on.

Onward,

Grapeshot
