Then they are too good to be true=too good to be believable.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11976538607575202318noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10665541.post-25917731168599686452015-06-29T13:44:41.573-07:002015-06-29T13:44:41.573-07:00I totally agree with you, that male characters can...I totally agree with you, that male characters can get away with a lot, while female characters have to be on their best behavior most of the time. But then as a society, we judge women more harshly. When was the last time you read a female character who gets angry, even justifiably, and no one censures her for it? Men are allowed to be angry, women are called "bitchy", or accused of being "on the rag." In many ways, we still have a long way to go before equality is the norm.Fiona McGierhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13495707848048468428noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10665541.post-79071144444820348302015-06-28T12:05:29.569-07:002015-06-28T12:05:29.569-07:00Good post, especially about developing your charac...Good post, especially about developing your characters and having them jump off the page.darkwriterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10896375750274931895noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10665541.post-25675846676141177162015-06-27T19:40:02.486-07:002015-06-27T19:40:02.486-07:00I think it depends on the story how much humanity ...I think it depends on the story how much humanity you need in the villain as well as how much time is devoted to them in the novel. I don't like getting the villain's POV. For me, it often ruins the suspense of a novel. I prefer to read really tight, third person stories with only one POV. You can learn something about the villains, but only as much as the protagonist does. Depending on the story, it may not be that much. For me, that's fine. :)

Marci Baunhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01850775917897362922noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10665541.post-19853489427990951022015-06-27T11:00:11.890-07:002015-06-27T11:00:11.890-07:00Great advice, Judith, with well supported examples...Great advice, Judith, with well supported examples.
